Jupiter, Moon and Venus Conjunction

This is a quick snap of Jupiter (top) Venus and the Moon taken from the terrace taken on 30-Nov 2008. Unfortunately it was cloudy the next day when they were even closer, and in a smiley face Conjunction

Mont Blanc

Here is a view of Mont Blanc taken from our terrace with the 8SE telescope. At 4,800m it' one of the highest mountain in Europe, and the peak it right on the French / Italian border.

Camera : Nikon D50
Exposure : 1/1000
Scope : 8SE
Distance to target: 80 km

Here is the same view in Google Earth. The line goes from Lausanne in Switzerland, across Lake Geneva and the French border (yellow line) all the way to Mont Blanc.
